In college, I majored in Mass Media Arts. But I had a lot of friends in the famed B-school, and every now and then, I’d get a peek at their take-home assignments. There was one that caught my eye… and I borrowed (never gave it back) and took it home.
It was an assignment from Dr. Dennis Kimbro instructing students to write their retirement speech. All of your goals, all of the things you accomplished, all of the good you did for the world, who you’d thank, etc.
I did the assignment.. and that set me on an entirely new path in my college career. It gave me direction.. a sense of direction I never felt. Came up with a lifestyle I want to live… a legacy I’d like to leave… and a focus to do work that matters.
